«Эффект наблюдателя» — это проект, созданный для заброшенного дома культуры Каназ в Ереване, Армения. Художницы задаются вопросом, сможет ли человеческое тело адаптироваться к условиям новой реальности, как изменятся биологические процессы в организме и что произойдёт с эмоциями постчеловека.
Выставка объединяет две серии видео-работ и инсталляцию из манекенов, которые были собраны в ДК для отправки на войну в Нагорном Карабахе. В первом зале представлено трёхканальное видео “Where is my plastic bag”, а в главном зале располагается инсталляция из манекенов, предметы мебели на сцене, приглашающие зрителя прочувствовать на себе эффект наблюдателя и серия видео “A000000000001000AA011”. Объекты выставки будто предлагают зрителю найти взаимосвязь между ними и самостоятельно выстроить хронологию событий.
Проект — это, с одной стороны, улика, оставленная деятельностью человека в прошлом, а с другой стороны, несколько тревожный взгляд в будущее, который напоминает о выборе, который человек ежедневно совершает.

The observer effect

We are delighted to present a solo exhibition of contemporary artists Lilia Li-Mi-Yan and Katerina Sadovsky (Moscow) “Observer effect”.
Observer effect in physics is the theory that any act of observation transforms the monitoring object. An experiment with checking pressure in an automobile tire might be a vivid illustration to the theory: it is necessary to let out some air, thus changing the pressure. However, the observer attitude is quite anthropocentric and if allowed we are observed from the opposite side, then the roles of an actor and a recipient intertwine drastically.
Two works, “A000000000001000AA011” and “Where is my plastic bag?”, are reflections on the image of a posthuman. The artists look critically at the modern human`s beliefs and depict one of the possible scenarios of the nearest future. The characters in the work “A000000000001000AA011” are equipped with specific implants and an extra system of body parts for surviving in light of the new reality. Such mutations can be interpreted in a new way alongside the project “Where is my plastic bag” which presents a fragile body opposed to an industrial machine. A deliberate differentiation shifts our attention from the works to the audience and their body. Besides, placing both works in a single exhibition brings up the question of events timeline, what if we are a starting point?
In “Observer effect” we suggest omitting a common approach of a viewer and becoming an involved actor: to trace the relationship between actors, to identify the observer and the observed, to track how various events and knowledge change the angle of our perception and modify the whole exhibition.
